This stacked up as the guide I decided to carry with us in Istanbul this year. Its not perfect, but the maps, attraction info and restaurant and transport info was very helpful. Note, there is some internet blocking in Istanbul including, when we were there, Wikipedia, so dont expect to be able to a pull down info about attractions as you tour (google maps worked but the info available there is of course not systematic and is spotty. also, naming conventions of attractions (turkish vs english can be confusing on google). this book had enough info to function pretty well. I would note that the info on proposed walks is a little lacking in detail, especially the walk from Pierre Loti over to the Chora Church - we never did get aligned to follow the wall. But overall, a very good job on a great city!!
I always go to DK when I travel.. they are always the best with their concise and accurate travel guides and this lives up to my expectations . In the the electronic world that is never available when needed there is a profound sense of security knowing you can always have accurate information at your finger tips.
