I am a fickle reader. I will start a book, get the gist of it in the first few chapters, then leave it and go on to something else. It takes an extraordinary book by an extraordinary writer to keep my attention for fiction or non-fiction. I can't put down Dan's stuff. Whenever I pick up one of his writings, I am riveted to the end. His writing is entertaining and relatable, while being educational and inspiring at the same time. This book is great for anyone who needs a little "What are you waiting for?" in your life, regardless of whether your road is to explore the far reaches of the earth, or get a new job to get out of your rut, or try something new and fun and just beyond your comfort zone this weekend. Thanks, Dan! Can't wait for the next one!

I actually found this book after I followed the author on Instagram as a Jeep enthusiast. This book is about so much more than Jeeping, travel, overlanding, etc. I genuinely felt like I was there with him and experiencing every high and low. Looking forward to Volume Two, hopefully about his epic journey across Africa!

This was a great read. Not so much a mile by mile account, but some interesting highlights. There are lots of thoughtful comments about some of the events on the trip, and some good information on how to handle situations. Well worth the read and i look forward to the same sort of book about the author's current Africa adventure.

Even though I just got back from my own mini adventure in Morocco, this book makes me want to buy a ticket to South America immediately. Loved how he shared the true ups and down of long term travel. Can’t wait to read the next volume on Africa.

Honest account of a phenomenal journey. Dan gives a heartfelt description of emotions from loneliness to elation. Hope to see Volume 2 soon.
